Endometriosis, Leanna Manning

Title: Comfort Blanket

“I've been able to talk with a couple of people who have endometriosis and join a support group around that and just meet people. It's just a very specific pain that you can't really explain to people who'd haven't gone through it.

I feel like when I draw my pain, it feels like I'm trying to bore holes in my paper so there's this concentrated intensity. Trying to capture that, it’s like swirls, or I don't even know what to call it. Just shading like this back and forth. But there's this intensity, like I need to try and offload this or capture that sharp pain or that darkness. It's like a void. It's like I don't know what's going on there but it hurts a lot.”
