This piece is a pseudo data visualization. My pain varies in intensity and expression throughout the day, so I was thinking about what it might look like if I represented that 24 hour time period.  Reds and yellows are about lighter pain and discomfort.  Brighter reds are more acute pain.  Lighter colors are when I’m asleep. Usually, I have bits of pain while I’m asleep, but largely when I’m sleeping I’m not experiencing pain in the same way.  It’s an ongoing process and experience, so I don’t look at this piece as a perfectly polished thing. I don’t think finishing it would be an accurate depiction of my experience with chronic pain.
